Favorite stores to shop at:
Kohls, Target, Old Navy, and Victoria`s Secret.
Best deal she ever got:
This $58 Banana Republic ring for only $2!
How she got it:
The original retail price of the ring was $58, marked down to $29.99. There was also a 40% off sale in the store. Tiffany also used a $15 gift certificate (a birthday reward that she had gotten from Banana Republic for being a credit card holder), and then she also got 10% off for using her Banana Republic credit card to pay for it. After all of those discounts, she only paid about $2 for the ring! Good job, Tiffany!
Tiffany`s Frugal Tip to share:
Join free rewards programs that stores offer. Even if you`re not a frequent buyer or shopper, they will still send you certificates and coupons to get you in to the store. Then, use those in a smart way! (Combine as many discounts as possible, as seen above).
Insider Scoop:
Tiffany worked as a retail store manager for 13 years and had some insider info to share with us! Here`s what she had to say:
- Find out when your favorite stores do markdowns, and then shop on that day to get the best selection of newly marked down items. (If you don`t know which day they do the mark downs, just ask. Most stores do markdowns on the same day each week).
- Stay organized….know the price adjustment policies (most are stated on the receipt with the return policy) and check back in the store to see if a price had changed on items you have already purchased.
- If you find a sale on something you`ve already bought, re-buy the same item and return the original one.
- As said earlier, join clubs and reward programs that are free….even if you don’t shop often, you will get coupons and offers from those stores.
- Holidays….any holidays, are usually great times to take advantage of day long or weekend long sales.
- Also, make sure to shop at the end of a season, and stock up for the next year!
Thanks for all the great tips, Tiffany!
